The Logical Company has been designing DEC-compatible interfaces for more than 25 years.   We have designed and produced cost effective and timely solutions for the Unibus, Qbus,Turbochannel, VME, PCI and PCIe buses including general purpose interfaces, synchronous and asynchronous controllers, bus adapters, AD/DA converters, line splitters, programmable timers, interrupt controllers, real time clocks and others.

• Our replacement designs maintain software and connector/signal compatibility while reducing power and, where applicable, increasing performance.
• We can design a direct replacement for your obsolete controller from schematics, if they are available, or by reverse engineering your board.
• Alternately, we can design a PCI or PCIe (PCI Express) version of an older controller to allow you to migrate to a modern system.

We use modern design and manufacturing methods to create modern versions of dated and obsolete DEC controllers.

We have been serving the DEC marketplace for over 25 years and are specialized in migration of Digital computer systems. We work with local value added resellers to quickly access your VAX or PDP-11 systems including I/O devices and provide a DEC migration solution that meets your needs.  The Logical Company works closely with local value added resellers to help our customers migrate from legacy MicroVAX or PDP-11 systems to our hardware, software and diagnostic compatible replacement systems.

 

Integrated Designs
When space and/or platform requires combining multiple functions

We have integrated third party designs into our NuVAX and NuPDP product line to resolve space limitations and facilitate migration to state-of-the-art VAX and PDP-11 replacement systems.

For example, we re-designed one customer’s proprietary wire-wrap board and integrated it with a NuVAX option module to extend the capability of the option module to include the wire-wrap board function while maintaining software, hardware, and connector compatibility.  The result was a clean system without the need for an external Qbus expansion chassis.
